Grand Buffet - Five years of fireworks (2005)
I really love these guys live show. It’s almost more of a stand up act like “flight of the condors” or something but with funny ass hip hop music. First time I accidentally saw these guys in Lakewood Ohio with Mc Chris. Jackson was doing some impression of Elvis.. I yelled some random derogatory remark and he called me a “fucking genius”… Long story short, Grand Buffet is absolutely amazing live... not like lights and pyrotechnics.. Just two dudes on stage acting like assholes… genuine talent… below is a quick wiki
Grand Buffet is a hip-hop duo from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, made up of Jackson O'Connell-Barlow (stage names: Iguanadon, Grape-a-Don, Plaps, Nate Kukla, and Mr. Pennsylvania) and Jarrod Weeks (stage names: M-Dog, Lord Grunge, Viceroy, Matt Kukla, Fred Durts). Their music is a unique brand of humorous, often satirical rap. They have toured several times with notable artists such as Gil Mantera's Party Dream, Sage Francis, Of Montreal, Cex, Sole, Magnolia Electric Co., Streetlight Manifesto, and the late Wesley Willis. They have also toured the USA and Europe extensively. In 2005 they finished a European tour with Sage Francis, and an American Tour with Of Montreal and MGMT in 2006. They toured with Girl Talk in 2008, and Third Eye Blind in 2009.

Son of Sam - Songs from the earth (2001)
This is the only record worth listening to.. The others that I’ve heard are garbage. Remember years ago when Davey Havok did that song (think it was called “quick death”) with The Transplants and we were all like “FUCK YEAH…. I HOPE AFI IS GONNA GO BACK IN THIS DIRECTION” then we were all disappointed and pissed off with everything that has come out over the past, like 10 years… well what we didn’t know is that Havok already made this amazing horror punk record… when I found this in like 2003 I was so excited,… the sound was everything I was hoping for and I couldn’t wait for then next one.. Needless to say that anything good has to get ass fucked. The next record has no Davey Havok… I dunno if he was to wrapped with shitty ass AFI or if his sexuality got in the way… never the less at least we have this.

Lard – The last temptation of Reid (1990)
Hella – There’s no 666 in outer space (2007)
In 2005 I went to whatever the damn amphitheater is called in the Cleveland Flats to see The Mars Volta and was fuckin floored when we first arrived. Hella was on stage which reminded me of what how "at the drive-in" use to perform.. I was instantly taken away and all my focus was on these crazy fucks. I remember a few bros wearing the concert shirt they bought 5 minuets earlier saying shit like “what the fuck is this music… get the fuck off”… that’s a frat house bro for ya…. Kisses - The Heart of Nightlife (2010)
I haven’t listened to these guys too much but I did like what I heard while catching them on random. I would say it’s a pretty decent listen. If you liked the “No Kids” post I did you may dig on this… also fans of “Best Coast” or “Delorean” will probably enjoy this as well. Kick back on the beach with a cocktail, cuddle with your lover and take in the sounds.

Grass Widow - ST (2009)
Grass Widow’s lyrics, matched with its cautiously joyous beats, reflect its vision of the world: a mysterious Ozlike land in which the surface looks radiant and colorful but with a thinly veiled underside that reveals a fearful and fateful ethereal reality. -- source

YMCK - Family Racing (2005)
Russian Circles - Enter (2006)
This is one of my favorite records of all time and it really pains me to say that their later releases aren’t nearly as powerful as this one. Favorite track is “Death Rides A Horse”. Take note during the breakdown, you can literally picture a Viking battle with erupting volcanoes and pterodactyls coming down through the debris… this one is most enjoyed with another friend on the East Side of Cleveland and a few King Cobras or Laser 40s.

Pato Pooh ft. Adam Tensta - Follow Me
This video is really sweet. The song it’s self is pretty good too. I really wish some sweet hip hop artists would pick up on chiptune beats. Could you imagine GZA’s upcoming “Liquid Swords 2” all in chiptune… Holy shit that would be amazing. I would say check out Pato Pooh’s other music, but in my opinion it’s pretty crappy, on the other hand Adam Tensta is alright. I was kinda hoping it would’ve followed the 8bit thing… but no luck.

Soundpool - Mirrors in your eyes (2010)
No Kids - Come into my house (2008)
I just happen to run across these guys on last.fm and found a disc online. After loading up the disc I was skipping through tracks and wasn’t very impressed so it ended up on my ipod intending to give it a second chance… well that didn’t actually happen. After months of their music popping up on random and time after time of enjoying the sound it has easily become a new favorite of mine. After reading about this band I discovered they have multiple side projects… I actually think this is one of them while “P:ano” remains the main band. Those posts are coming soon.

Mega Man 10 - OST
This is one of the best drunk driving records in existence. If any of you have played Mega Man 10 (downloadable for Wii and XBOX 360… and maybe PS3 but I don’t give a fuck about that piece of shit) you already know how fucking intense the music is… now you can have it. Close your eyes, hit the accelerator and let go of the steering wheel.

Die! Die! Die! - Form (2010)
Tipsy - Buzzz (2008)
Apparently (from what I heard) Mike Patton got these guys to start making music again sometime in 2005… I dunno how true this is and I would appreciate any corrections but without argument, I’m sure most will agree this is one record that you absolutely cannot live without. If you like old lounge music or just want to make yourself look fucking awesome, play this at an Art School party and watch all the hipsters get real interested in you real fast!
